    I thought I would post some pics of my CH4B intake and Proform 750 carb swap yesterday on my 440 in the '68 Charger. To keep the fuel as cool as possible, I bought the Cool Carb shield and spacer (total thickness is 3/8" made from 2 layers of aluminum and one poly insulator).  I also decided to custom build and 3/8" hard line up and over the valve cover to a 3-nipple filter (2 in, 1 out to carb and 1 out to 5/16" return line) mounted to the inner fender.  I then wrapped it all with the DEI heat shield  basically from the the fire wall to the dual feed line.  A Firecore distributor, coil and wires are next.

    1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

    Did you have fuel percolation after shutting the engine off? If you did, did this mod stop it from happening?

    I have used wood and aluminum spacers under carbs in hot rods with acceptable results but never the aluminum shield.
    This looks interesting, I will follow along to see what the results are.

    Would have been interesting to take a before and after temp with an IR gun.

    I have been running that Cool Carb heat shield and two of their spacers for 2+ years now on my 340. It definitely helps but you have to make sure that you have the crossover blocked! The Cool Carb has a max temperature range around 250-275 degrees (I forget the exact temp per CC). It will melt above a given point! BUT,,, I have an aluminum intake with the crossover blocked and I have not had any issues! I have noticed that after driving around and allowing the engine to idle, I can touch the carb and it is much cooler than I would have thought.

     This is not a miracle part for the crapty E10 gas that has been handed to us but it is definitely a good upgrade and I will not run without it. Good product!

    That is nice work.  Do you have a torque strap on it?  The fuel line may be susceptible to damage when engine torques over.........particularly if the engine mount breaks.

    I see them at Carlisle every year and up here in Canada at Moparfest. I bought just the spacer this year at Moparfest but haven't installed it yet.
