It's not unfortunately.

I listed the car on Craigslist got two calls from North Carolina literally 10 minutes apart. Neither guy knew each other. The first guy talked a good line about wiring the money and sending a transporter which I was ok with Then he proceeds to offer $32k which I promptly turned down.

So I call guy #2 and tell him he's next in-line. 30 minutes later he wires a deposit and is driving here Monday to see the car. If he likes what he sees he'll wire the balance to my account and off to North Carolina he'll go. Sounds like a no B.S. guy WHO KNOWS A GREAT DEAL WHEN HE SEES IT!!!

Can't wait to get the Challenger home!!!

Do those "wire transfers" clear immediately in your bank. ??  And what if he doesn't like what he see's Monday and starts the old pick it to death lowball game. ??  Is the deposit refundable. ??  Sorry to be nosey, just been thru it a few times. You just strike me as the kinda guy that would knock his lights out if he pi$$ed you off.  :roflsmiley:                       :rebel:

I sold my 71 Satty to a guy in Germany and it was all wire transfer. the bank mgr at TD Bank told me that they can rescind the money up to 1 year, but it would launch an investigation before returning the money. what I would do is move the funds to a different bank or take the cash out immediately.

A wire transfer is the ONLY safe way to ensure the money is "REAL". A check no matter how legitimate it looks can come back as fake up to 3 weeks after you deposit it. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DEPOSIT A BAD CHECK PERIOD!!! This is how most scammers steal from all of us.

Obviously as soon as he pulls out with the Cuda I'm going to the bank and withdrawing the cash. I'll be on my way to pick up the Challenger.

I worded my ad on Craigslist like this: If you've seen Fast and Loud and think you're Richard Rawlings DON'T CALL ME!!! If you've seen Counting Cars and watched Danny Coker buy cars for half price with "$100 BILLS" Don't bother calling me. I watch the shows too and I'm not playing ANY GAMES!!!
IF YOU'RE SERIOUSLY LOOKING FOR A 71 CUDA YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS IS A GREAT DEAL!!!

Yet these "Jokers" still try to test me. I don't believe this guy is going to try to pull anything. He offered to wire a deposit to hold the car. He is leaving home sunday at 3am and driving here to see the car (about 8-1/2 hrs) He is certainly SERIOUS and I fully expect him to like what he sees, wire the balance and be on his way. Trying to pull any B.S. will not work out in his favor. I'd say the balls in my court.
