Just trying to add perspective , HEI really was OK for stock vehicles but was not as reliable as the Mopar system , it was also RPM limited & was not really good after 5000 rpm or so , as well as the problems I mentioned , going to HEI to me is a step down from a Mopar system . Having said that the newer Mopar systems are not as good now as they once were , when they were installing 100s / day on the assy line the ECU s were better made , new Orange box ECU are problematic now , probably Chinese made now .
The latest Mopar dist available from Dave @ Roseville or Mancini are fully adjustable & look factory so that would be my choice . Firecore is great too .
The best system is crank trigger with 4 coil pack , this is the most stable & allows longer build time for each coil , this is what all of the factories now use in production . Might as well add EFI while you are there too LOL
