I think the butterflies are cool... you can get a tramp stamp to match.

I'd take the dodge stickers off first, if they leave a faint Dodge written on the car it would look better than those decals and with some luck might look kind of neat. Unless those ones come off without a trace, I'd probably just leave the butterflies, not that I like them much but they're totally different and 70's.

If it's truly been kept in a climate controlled garage since "new", then you might be okay with paint fade under the decals....I say go for it

Car Looks great as it is what ppl did to them in the 70s you can always put a trashy girls name on the plate to match the tramp stamps  Dakota or brandy came to mind for me. And maybe spruce up the engine bay like everyone else said but go more day 2 performance parts enjoy the car drive it when they stop becoming cars it's time to sell it ;)

Love the car!  Do whatever you want, it is yours!  I think one of the best things is the bumblebee stripe!

The car has always caught my eye since the first time I saw it on T.V.  Jack was interviewed on Pittsburgh's KDKA TV news back around 1990 They always have an interesting story at the end of the broadcast. He took the reporter for a ride in the Challenger and the car was part of the story.

It caught my eye because it's "different" especially with the yellow bumble bee stripe. The tan/brown interior is also unusual just because it's not black or white. I also think the luggage rack is cool because it's not a wing , seems every old Mopar these days has an added wing and if you want to be different you don't put one on your car.

I drove the car home about 30 miles last night and as expected it runs and drives beautifully. All the lights and gauges work. The car is a real pleasure to drive.

I had to stop about a mile from the guy's house and put gas in the car. I had a cute young lady tell me " Nice car" and a young man ask about it. When I told him I literally just bought the car down the street he was flipping out.

I pulled it in my garage and put it away for the night. The original steering wheel is in great shape. The original valve covers were included as well as the missing wiper arms. So at least I don't have to hunt for them. For awhile I'm just going to look at it and decide which direction to go. I am happy with my decision to part with the Cuda for the Challenger I think I stepped up to a better car overall. I know it's not a 71 Cuda but it is cool in it's own way.

Don't rush on the decals, think about and talk to a lot of people and you will have that AHA moment on what is to do best. That being said I would change the wheel and add the wipers and then not do anything until you drive the car for at least one summer and get that out of your system. You will have the car the rest of your life so what is one summer. You will get more driving pleasure out of the car knowing it is ok to get the engine bay a little dirty know that "next" winter you are going to redo it. Again, giving you more time to think about and get feedback from others. The decals for now will be a cool story at shows to tell people the original owner put them on back in the 70's, enriching the story that is a 1 owner car. Like people say about cars with non matching motors the decals are "Correct for the time period".  Great car, great story.

Awesome color combos on that one!

Get rid of those butterflies.  LAME !!

Dodge decal isn't so bad comparatively speaking.

My vote is to remove both. But...

As noted by many, take your time on the final decision. Take it to shows and see where all the cars discussions lead. If they all turn into "yah it's not my style but it's the cars history" conversation you dread then there is your answer. But if conversations are upbeat to it's history you have your other direction answer.

Nice find btw.
