What does the exact air cleaner look like ? Should it have a vacuum pod on one or both snorkels ? Do you know the part number I'm looking for ? ANYBODY have one For Sale ?

This is a great resource for correct air cleaners - http://www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner.htm

I don't think he re-painted any of the orange otherwise he would have corrected the firewall, rad support and fender tag too ! :dunno:

I decided to replace only what I needed to. The black under the hood , cowl , wiper motor etc has to stay since I couldn't remove it without repainting. If I was going to restore the car I would have stripped it all. It's going to stay "as is" for a while.

I did remove the "Dodge" decals from the quarters a few minutes ago. There is a ghost image that doesn't look as bad as the bright white decal. I'm going to try a light wet sand and buff later on.

I would try buffing only with a medium compound then polishing without sanding, the paint then was not base clear like now so it would be easy to buff through. Just a thought, it should be hard enough by now to buff it and maybe bring back the darker color. If this works there I would go for the butterflies next.

I actually think the "ghost" dodge lettering would look cool and updated...almost like it was intentional :cooldancing:

Took the Challenger out for the first show yesterday. We drove most of the way in heavy rain. Stopped to top the fuel off before leaving. Ran into a group of new Mopars heading my direction. So I rode along with their group for about 60 miles. We were traveling 70-75 mph most of the way. We pulled in a rest area and introduced ourselves. I had a lot of really nice comments made about the Challenger. The one that struck me funny was "I can't believe your running right along with us, isn't your car running hot?" it was about 70 degrees and the car was running nice and cool. I always remind people who ask that they are still cars and we used to drive them year round.

Here's a picture of our group of cars including a Hellcat right beside mine.

And they also came with wipers, brakes, lights, turn signals, etc... But unfortunately you actually have to insert and turn a key to make thinges work. Lol
Thanks for the pics.
