    Man it's hard when your Cuda's not around anymore. Mine has been in the Paint shop for 7 weeks (they ain't touched in 3) and I'm goin through some serious depression. Specially around this time of the year. Why is it always tough to get a Body/Paint shop to keep their word?? Sorry for complaining just lookin for some love.

    You'll be fine, watch heaps of MoPar movies keep on coming to this board and talking MoPars.....
    Once I get my daily MoPar fix I'm happy.   :thumbs:
    Good things take time. My Challenger was in body work for roughly 16 months.  :( :yawn:
    But now that 16 months was worth every second, just think of it as there doing a really REALLY top class job, if they rush..... :ack:

    Thanks for the words of encouragement, I appreciate it. I also helps to have an understanding wife, I've got new tires and Rims, door panels, Headers, Torque Converter, Grill, Moldings, distributor, and other misc stuff piled in our dining room and she hasn't said a word. Cant put the stuff in my garage since I got my 360 Crate on one side and the Ram 2500 on the other.

    Guess I 'll go in the garage and turn the 360 crates water pump a couple of times by hand.

    Yip, thats just like me. My hallway, deck (and pool table) Garage and shed oh and lounge have Challenger parts.


    It's like theres a big party at my house but only YearOne boxes are allowed. LMAO!!  :laughing: ;D

    Most of the time that these cars are in the shop is not because of the level of work being conducted, it is because these cars are time consuming. The shop stops to work on some newer car that the insurance company is paying for.Those cars are there bread and butter income. Then they usually go back to your car when they are ready. My friend said on Thursday he saw 2 guys working on my challenger, I went there yesterday and 1 guy was working on a minivan, go figure.

    I think what else is tough about it is most of us will attempt just about anything on our beloved Mopars with the exception of painting them. It's one of those rare times where you feel you have no control over what is going on with your car. But if you want a show winner you gotta make sure it gets done right. There are those few talented people that can do it all plus paint. I'm not one of them though. So I will wait patiently for my Cuda to come home.   ::)

    One of the reasons we don't do our own paint is because depending on where you live it may be illegal. :(

    Don't worry mate I'm in the same boat as you and if you've seen my posts I often refer to my "resto team".  ;D ;)

    I figured I didn't know enough and/or don't have the space or tools to do the work. And my main concern is that the Challenger R/T is a rare car and needed to be done right. I wan't to drive this car and feel safe and confident that it is 100% "new" Peace of mind so-to-speak.


    Big ups to the guys that paint and restore these vehicles.  :worship: :thumbs: One day I will have a go but being my first MoPar I want this one now to drive! Atleast if I get my 68 Charger and I do the work at the end of the day I can hop in the Challenger and go for a blat.  :drool:

    Have 2 cars in 2 different shops, one has been there for over a year, guy  does excellent work. After seeing the magazine article about just getting it built and not getting it perfect, I was willing to settle on a shop that would work quicker, so that I could at least enjoy one of these cars with the family. So they could see what all this Mopar hype is all about. :burnout: :driving:

    I gotta tell ya my Cuda was pretty darn straight when I put it in the shop. Had a couple of dings to take out. Main reason it's in is I'm gettin a complete color change, also losin the big white stripe.

    Got good news today though, their preppin the engine bay right now and she should be ready for paint next week sometime. Can't wait.

    Good news, they shot the Engine Compartment, Trunk , and Jams. I was anxious to see how the new color would come out. The paint actually has more mica than I thought it would so I am very happy. It's hard to tell from the pics I've posted but when that sunlight hits the paint it just lights up!

    The paint is a little dusty and has water spots from rinsing right now so it's hard to tell from these pics exactly how it will look when all cleaned up.

    They are now blocking and sanding the body 1 more time before they spray it, they will then wet sand and buff. Should be ready next week. I've posted some before and after pic's of what has been painted so far. ;D
