Less than a month until the show and once again it looks like Bob Ashton has a line up that will raise the bar even higher than the lofty level set by the previous years shows!!
I've attended the show as a spectator in 2009, had my '71 in the show 2010 and 2011, and was so impressed with the show I've volunteered to work there in the years since.  If you've been to the show, you know that it is the Pebble Beach of Muscle Cars.  500+ of the best of the best.  And the most amazing part is that you will seldom see just one of a super rare type of car, Bob's goal is if you are going to have one in the show, why not more?  So what is in store this year... How about 27 real deal hemi Cuda and Hemi Challenger Convertibles!!??   There will be many more exciting Mopars there too, including the unveiling of the restoration of one of the only '72 Roadrunner 440 six packs made.  It was in Ryan Brutts (Devil here on the board) Barn Find section a couple years back, and now it will be there debuting with a concours restoration.
Ryan will be signing copies of his new Barn Find book too.
I'm scheduled to work 12 hours during setup and all day Saturday and Sunday so I hope I'll get a chance to meet c.c members who attend.
The convention center is just east of O'Hare airport, a mere punch and a roll from the airport,  so it is very easy to get there.
You can order show tickets in advance and save $5 at the website-

Can't wait!  :2thumbs: :woo:

Hey Ryan, I want to get an autographed copy of your book at the show.  But I've got a few things to sort out, between being tied up working there Saturday and Sunday and thinking your book would be a good xmas gift idea for me from my relatives, I've got to figure out a way to get an autographed copy to my relatives so they can wrap it up and give it to me a month after the show!
Have a few weeks to figure out that minor logistic issue!
Looking forward to seeing your barn finds display at the show this year, it's always one of the more popular exhibits at the show.  :clapping:

I went last year for the first time and I was very impressed.

Plan on going again this year ... provided there isn't a freak blizzard that will stop me from driving up I-55 from The Lou.

However, just so you know, I don't plan on signing any autographs this year ...  :grinno:
Cheers!

We will be there again, as this is just an event not to miss. I'll likely start pulling merchandise off the warehouse shelves next week. We should have samples of a poster Brad Miles is doing with many Hemi Cuda-Challenger Converts on it. Looking forward to it all!

Here are the 20" x 30" posters Brad Miles is creating. They should be available in our booth - set up in Hall C the light blue walls with our company van in with our 1:18 die cast stuff. We are to be handling these cool now posters made by Brad Miles, celebrating the 25-27 (?) Hemi E-Body convertibles that are to be at the show. Stop by and look and say hi!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, we will have many 1:18 scale Mopars too.

and this one...

Sometimes it seems like about half the ebodies made in '70 and '71 were FC7.
I got my MCACN employee assignment and have been tasked with guarding the hemi e-body display 9-5 both Saturday and Sunday.  I can't complain about that job.   Of course, I better keep a sharp eye on the rides as I wouldn't want it on my conscience if someone was to mess with any of them!
Everyone who makes the show this year I'm sure you'll be checking out the holy grail of ebodies display and hope you'll say hi to me when you do.  I always look forward to meeting some of my online gearhead friends in person at shows.

For some reason, cameras tend to break when someone tries to take a picture of me, not sure why? :picture: :o
So there aren't too many pix of me floating around.  I think I have a picture of me last year there with a vert.  I'll see if I find it next time I'm on my PC.
I'm the only one scheduled to watch the hemi vert display, so won't be hard to find. I'm around 6'3, will be wearing a yellow MCACN jacket that says staff or security on the back.  Wearing a red or gray MCACN ball cap.

I'll be there from Wednesday through Tuesday.  So we can get together at some point to get ya a copy.  I'm not worried.

I just spent the last week and a half planning out every corner of the show.  And WOW is it crazy!

I'm scheduled 12 hours Friday watching something called "the bridge" for cars arriving to see that they have their proper paperwork, it's outside, not sure what that job is like.  Haven't heard from Barb yet as to if I'm working Thursday, I took Thursday off from my office job so I hope so!  At any rate, we live in the same area so somehow someway we'll figure out something with your book.

I don't have anything going on next weekend.  I asked the girlfriend if she could walk around most of the day gawking at 500 cars.  She said she was game.  We will stop for Chicago pizza on the way home too.  I can't wait to see all those Hemi Convertibles!!
