« on: May 29, 2005 - 04:47:03 PM »
ok. i know it sounds stupid of me to do this buti have built a 360 up and swapped the 360 into my /6 challenger. but i left the stock rear end in 8 1/4. while a couple of months past by and the other day i noticed i had a lot of back lash in my rear end. also yesterday my rear end was making a nasty poping noise when i turned. its really bad. i changed the u joints cuz their was slack in them. after that i took it for a ride but still pops. not as bad but still pops. its ony a matter of time i guess. what do u guys think

pops on turns sounds like possibly you chipped a tooth on the spider gears or lost the bolt on the cross pin block
easy enuff to find out ...pull the cover off the back

sounds liek $$ to me , I agree it si a problem with the axle gears & may be easily fixed before it comes apart
