1973-1974 Cuda,Barracuda,Challenger Prices

This is a topic on the lonely 1973-1974 E bodies that are forgotten over the 1970-71 models. Those big rubber bumperettes , round tail lites, emissions choked engines, no more big blocks.....So that being said what would you give these 4 price groups as todays value .
1. Show Cars ,OEM restos $$$$$$
2. Driver quality ,local car show cars $$$$$
3. Restorable needing work but not to far gone $$$$
4. Very rusty needing much to restore,parts only maybe $$

Will be watching.   Getting ready to insure my car and was curious about the values on these as well.  I did not go OEM.  I swapped to 70 bumpers to eliminate the bumperettes.  I did stay with the factory color combo (FY1 with white interior).

         Personally were I in the market for a Barracuda I would prefer the round tail light years.  :2cents:   The hype about the 71's is really getting old, and the people following this hype and buying cars for stupid prices are going to loose their socks in the long run. Just my   :2cents:       :rebel:

I think the sleeper is 74, 360 cars especially 4 speeders.

those are the years that are perfect for someone who doesn't care about originality.  get you started for cheap, and then make it the car you want without fear your changing some 6 figure museum piece

I think your scale is missing one between local car show cars and restorable cars. A vast majority of cars will sit between these two categories.

What do you want for it? personally I prefer the round taillights but Im from the UK and not a purist.. Im after an E body and you don't have to do the work as I want 392 Gen3 power

What do I want for it? I have not decided yet.

I have some ideas but I'm also in Canada and need to consider the market locally.  I'm also adding a few parts to make it more appealing like a suregrip. Hell after the 360 swap, the lunati cam and the suregrip I might like the car too much and keep it lol.

I waiver from selling it because I can't afford the e body I want but if I did a little saving and sold my Challenger I could afford the A body I want.

I had my 74 appraised last year. Originally a 318 car it now has a done up 340. Driver quality, a real sharp 20 footer. Appraisal was $24,900 Cdn.

Back in '96 when I got my Barracuda everyone wanted '70 or '71 cars. You could pick up the later years for practically nothing. No one considered them muscle cars after '71.  But now, even though the '70 and '71 cars are still worth more and more popular, the cap has narrowed a lot because more people want to get into the e-body hobby and Mopar only made a limited number of these cars. And besides the all the years are pretty much the same with only minor cosmetic and engine changes.

i like the round tailights on the 72-4 cudas as well, i have a 72 and i like the lights and grill better than the 70/71.

was this for insurance purposes? They are generally higher than the value of the car. My car was insured for insurance purposes ~3 years ago with the 318 still in it and the engine bay not detailed like it is now for 22 500. I'd rank mine in the 10 footer category as well, great driver. I don't think I will get that on the sale, I still have no idea what I am going to ask.
