stumped on a Challenger fender tag code
« on: October 29, 2015 - 02:56:07 PM »
Gorgeous '70 Challenger up on ebay now at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Challenger-R-T-Hardtop-2-Door-/291601993131?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43e4d54dab:g:BXoAAOSwI-BWMgaW&item=291601993131

Here is the fender tag for it

Nice options, but what stumps me is that "A17" package code that starts off the options string. "A17"? What the heck is that? :dunno:
Cheers!

Possibly a re-pop tag that was done in error. Only thing I founds was this:

A17 Fury III Spring Special "B" with Convertable (69), A-Body Trim Group Delete (without vinyl roof) (71-76)
A18 Senior Citizens Special (70)

A17 = "Canadian Spring Special" which includes rear window defog + a bunch of small cosmetic options. That car is a Canadian YO7 car so the tag is likely legit.

An angle I did not think about! Maybe some of the guys above the border will help fill in some more thoughts on this one.   :2cents:

"Canadian Spring Special"?? Can't say I have seen, or even heard of, that one before. Thanks H2! I plugged that A17 code into a couple of online decoders and I got the same thing as Grant which made no sense at all. Is there a reference for this "Canadian Spring Special" so I can read up on it? Thanks again H2.
Cheers!

I got the info on the A17 from Galen Govier's decoding book.
