Hello everybody! I am new here and I am here to learn and possibly share some if I can help.
My expertise of late has been more 2nd gen Dodge Cummins diesel performance than ebody mopars. I started this Mopar obsession with a survivor quality body 69 340 Dart Swinger I bought from Boot Hill Auto Wrecking in Denver for $400. It had an original ebody AM/FM with plug for a remote tape deck ebody radio in the back seat that I sold on the then new eBay for $300. I spent most of my high school years in junk yards digging for parts to clean up and sell. Through a bunch of horse trading I ended up with a 70 318 auto sassy grass green Barracuda that had been converted to a 340 4 speed car. I also accumulated most of the parts to put the car together as a nearly correct AAR aside from the TA block and heads.
Since then (15 years!), I have been away from home and have not had the time or space to put the car together. Thankfully, the USAF is getting me back to Colorado and within striking distance of the farm and shop. I am going to get back into the car and finish it. I have most of the parts I need back at home on the farm, and I am really itching to get this done.
Thanks to the parts being reproduced today, the vision of the car has changed somewhat. The goal is now a 70 B5, shaker, 4 speed, 'cuda with a very agressive street/strip 340 or R3 motor. I am still stuck on using the original 6 pak I scrounged back in the day, if for no other reason than I want to try it.
Eventually, I will go EFI.
All in all, I think this place is an AMAZING resource that I really didn't have the first time around. Back when I was a kid, I didn't really have a lot of reference material or car friends. Just Galen's books and I thought Steve Dulcich was a God at Mopar Muscle. I am really looking forward to learning from you guys.
Pictures, because who doesn't like pictures?
The Barracuda, as rescued. Really a neat car. It had a manual foot pump style windshield washer in it as well. Body isn't bad as a local Colorado car. I wish I had more pics of it originally, it had a killer set of 70s mohair seats and what was probably a very expensive Pioneer stereo and mono amp that weighed about 10 lbs. You can see some of the junk yard parts in the background.
The 72 (dads) But I did most of the original assembly. It is now stripped with a new quarter and getting paint. I want to stay with the Gold, but that is a losing battle.
At the Golden Super Cruise.
Trucks... I have a thing for the 2nd gen Cummins. Currently have the blue one. 02, 2500, ATS auto, II 62 Phatshaft, DAP 125 SAC injectors, smarty, TST Comp, etc. It is a heck of a good tow vehicle, and is legitimately fast in its own right.
And, last but not least... Planes!
