Correct E-body SS springs will lift the rear of the car a good amount and are designed for drag racing applications.
My orange street/strip 1973 Challenger pictured below has the E-body SS springs that have been on the car for over 20 years now.
It still sits fairly high and rides pretty rough on the street but hooked pretty hard at the track with 28x12.50 ET street tires.
Second pic shows how the SS springs really twist up in the front and raise the car up when launched.
I was actually able to get the front tire off the ground during a few hard launched with the 4 speed.
On my mostly street driven 1971 R/T Challenger I installed a pair of left rear SS springs for a A body (P3412003) per Dr. Diff's advice.
Car sits at the perfect height for me and the softer A body springs give it a much better ride on the street.
In the picture the R/T Challenger has the front of the spring in the top hole of the front hanger which is the lower ride height position.
Going to the bottom hole raises the rear about an inch I'm told.
Rear tires on the R/T are 275/60-15 on 15x8 wheels with 4 1/2" back spacing and fit completely under the car with no rubbing.
I think the E-body SS springs on my orange 73 Challenger probably hook better at the track but the A body SS springs in the 1971 R/T have a lower ride height and a much better ride.
