:wavingflag: Ok so I just got a call from the machine shop, when Indy CNC'd the heads the took the chambers all the way up to 70CC.  No where near the 63CC I bought pistons for.  So I need recommendations for new pistons, the ones I have will make a nice turbo car but not what I am after.  Bore 4.080 stroke 4.0 chamber 70cc .049 gasket I am shoting for 10.25:1 ratio.  Nobody seems to carry anything on the shelf, and I have already spent a grand on custom pistons I cannot use. :feedback:

Is that a dish piston?  Volume?  Normally head gaskets are .039, or do you have a cometic?

:wavingflag: I am going to run com*^etic gaskets, and the pistons are 25cc dish. originally that put my compression where I wanted but now I am f@#$^D.  with the current chambers it put me down around 8.5 . definitely not  where I wanted to be. and I do not want to settle for Keith black pistons.

Yeah, I hear ya.  I come up with 9.2 to 1 figuring you're at zero deck.  The 21.5cc dish gets you 9.5 to 1.  A flat top diamond with 6.8cc will yield 10.92 to 1.
There is a 16.7 dish for the 318 stroker, that I could have made into a 4.08 bore.   It's a size change, so it's not a full custom.
You'd need around 12.5cc dish to get what you want.

:wavingflag: :swear:Kinda pissed machine shop called and when indy CNCd the heads they took the chambers all the way up to 70cc.  Time to look for new pistons 25cc dish are not going to cut it unless I decide to be a turbo car....Not.  Just mad I got a custom set of 1200 dollar paper weights :banghead:

This is yet another compliant from INDY.  It seems they have let the quality and customer service go in a big way.

This is all very confusing to me. Was there no communication? Were they not aware you already had purchased pistons? You mention a machine shop. Does Indy not do their own machine work? Can you explain how this happened and why you have no recourse with them to recoup at least some of your investment? I guess I can't figure out how and why these kinds of mistakes/miscommunications happen with lots of $$ at stake, and why someone is not held accountable??

:wavingflag:indy advertised the heads to have 63cc chambers after there cnc porting. The pieces are nicely done just bad advertisement. The guy I talked to on the phone was kind of an a$$ though. I just am mad they did not mention increasing the camber size. 1 to 1.5 cc ok I can deal with that but 7 cc is a huge difference.  The other thing the did not advertise the are actually cast by edelbrock.  They get the blanks from them and do all the port polices an machining.  The whole reason I went with them is I didn't want edelbrock

:wavingflag: Well after looking and searching I think I am going with a mahle set of forger 5cc dish and cut some reliefs to get the compression where I wanted. pricey but not as bad as buying a full set of custom pistons. :working:

Why not mill the heads to get the volume down?

Probably a .030 cut...

:wavingflag: the intake has already been ported and hand polished I don't want to throw it off. I know it is not much but I think it would be a pain to get them perfect again if I change it now
