Seat Belts
« on: November 03, 2015 - 08:21:30 PM »
Thinking of getting an aftermarket set of belts w/shoulder belt to replace the originals. Any opinions on what to buy out there?

I have 74 E-Body belts in mine but they hang down too low and really are not that safe in a wreck. ( break your collar bone)
I found this article  helpful?

XV has nice belts, and they have an extension for the shoulder belt so it comes across lower and not on your collar bone.

Make sure you know the mounting point for the shoulder belt.  If your headliner is already in it can be tough to find.

Finding the bolt hole is pretty easy.  Just push in the headliner just above the quarter window about 3 inches up, and you should feel the hole in a bracket.  I used a hot nail to make a hole in my headliner just big enough for the bolt.  It turned out fast and easy.  Now if I can only remember where I bought them???  Ill look tomorrow.

I agree on the price, but from what I have heard, it may take months to get them after you pay for them. Customer service, was not their strong suit.

Ya I've heard that, I was hoping the new owner would change that fact.  :-\

Also interested in feedback on these. Like Brad, I like my collarbone the way it is.

I'm thinking I'll take the chance and order them. If they don't show up by April 2016, I can still drive with just the lap belt.

If you do, use a credit card so you're protected if things go wrong.
