340 Break In Oil With Zinc
« on: November 07, 2015 - 11:37:07 AM »
Okay I'm going to do first oil change after 340 motor (stroked to 416) has been broken in.  I've read as many posts as I can find.

If I go with Valvoline VR1 Oil or Castrol will I need to add any additional Zinc?  I know the VR1 has some of the highest zinc available in the oil already.  I just don't want to over do it.

Thanks.

Joe Gibbs or Brad Penn are always good to consider as well.
I ordered them before and they show up 48 hours later.

Brad Penn supposedly has the highest parts per million of ZDDP of any brands.

Lucas with good old Walmart oil, I wouldn't  throw money at VR1 or those other specialty oils.  I'm cheap though, you guys keep the economy going.

If I read right, that VR only has 1300ppm zinc, not enough, you want 1600-1800ppm
