WIW. Complete TA drive train. Air cleaner to trans

Assuming it needs rebuilt, but is all there.  Engine, carbs, trans, bell housing,  etc.  Numbers all match but to a dead car.

a dead car...you mean is already crushed?

A survivor meaning never been restored before could bring some good money. 5-10 grand.
Care to tell a little more what you've found or have?

Some more details would be nice.

I concur with 5 to 10K depending. Could bring a little more if there is that one guy out there with an AAR/ta needing an original set up.

A crushed car.  If I buy it I will check it for sure.

All I know now is complete ta 340 6 pack 4sp.  Complete as pulled from the car.  Anybody have a ta or aar missing drive train?

One place to check is the TA/AAR registry to see if the car is listed there.

You need to double check the car is destroyed or crushed.

Get the vin # and send it to these:

Those would definitely be good places to check.  If I get the set, I will check those out.

At this point, I am not sure what to offer.  I really don't need another LA six pack or 4sp.

I would be interested in the 4 spd, and am here in Denver!

Otherwise, if you are just looking for a 340 there are way less expensive options out there.

Get the vin off the car and share with us on here as well.

It's best to leave that tranny with the motor if they both match.  Helps the value.

Can you get some information for us?  Pics or the vin or what is the deal with the car?  Are you sure the car was crushed or is that just hear say?

Being that it is all number matching and its a 4sp I think it will bring more than $10,000 for a person looking for a date coded and period correct drive train.  That being said, offer him/her $6000/$7500.

However, why aren't they throwing out the first number?   A seller should know what they want for it.  :dunno:

It's one of those old guys who love to play the "make me an offer game."

Then like I said, shoot him a decent offer, but then be ready for a counter offer.  You could also look on EGag, and see what engines are selling for and bring him a couple of examples of current pricing.

I know of a guy who has an original Hemi Challanger that was drag raced and the motor was separated from the car long ago.  They were able to track down the motor, but the current owner is playing the same game.  My friend has made a reasonable offer, but the guy wont take that....and when asked says make me a new offer.  :pullinghair:
