This will be my next project. Looks like a lot of work doesn't it?

I think it looks pretty good and has a lot of potential.  It all depends on how much you paid for it.  :)  It looks like it's relatively complete.  It has the grille, taillights, chrome rearview mirror, and all of the glass.  You can't beat that with a stick!  It sucks that the window was left rolled down.  I am sure once you clear the family of squirrels out and clean everything up it will start to look a lot better.  Hell, your floors can’t look any worse than mine!

Carry a couple of cans of Brake-Kleen or similar for any angry insects and a good flashlight in case of other critters or varmints... ::) Be careful

Looks like a good project, if you have the time, money, patience and money!

And, welcome, wLc!

A110235, you fixed that???  Man, you didn't have nothin' to work with.   :worship:  What's it look like now?

wLc, it's definately got potential.  I've already seen worse brought back to life.  Anything can be fixed given enough time and money.

Honestly I'll side with 4C on this one, the grill looks pretty good as well of the trunk lid and rear tail pannel, I'm sure the floor throught out is gone, the bigger question is the frame rails, and obviously the interrior is shot and although expensive are readily availble through aftermarket vendors like Legendary. Hey, it's a 71 and unless the owner is trying to retire on this sale the good sheetmental and as someone else said the glass are big +'s here. Can we ask how much? Welcome friend, keep us posted on your decisions and progress. Right now the bigger job is removing the vechicle without causing further damage.

Honestly, I'm not backing up on what I previously posted about the possibilities for the car. But 1K seems a bit much especially since there is no potential drivetrain parts. I would have thought if the owner thought it was woth a grand he'd had taken a bit more care of how the car was "stored" the last 10 years, I say ten because a dang tree don't grow that much in just a couple of years, lol. The owner isn't "retireing" on the sale price but he's heating his pad next winter, lol. I'd definately try to haggle him down some for sure.

Ummmm..... that pic was taken two days ago.  Unless those magic little Keebler elves know how to do rust repair, it will continue to look like that until I can find a garage to work on it.  Yes, I know that I am insane.  But when I am done at least I won't have any hidden cancer to come back to bite me.

wLc-  Mine is a '71 also and they look to be in about the same condition.  Make sure that you keep us updated with progress pics.

And I thought I had a tough one!  What's your strategy to fix this?  Is there anyway to do it other than getting a floor/lower section from a donor car?   :dontknow:

Sounds like a cool plan you have for the car.  As far as the car it depends on what you have to pay for it, it all comes down to $$$ in the end.

The more I think about it the more I'm loving the thought of a 383 and Hemi Orange. The look I'm going for is kind of like the 2Fast 2Furious Challenger without the vinyl top.

Now that's a cool idea! :grinyes:

Sorry wLc, I am not trying to barge in on your thread!

I'll have to see how bad it is first.  If I decide to go for it, I will get new front and rear pans and then fabricate what ever else I need to make up for whats missing.  I have no desire to build a "show car" so if it doesn't look 100% original from underneath I won't lose any sleep.  The only thing I care about is building it so that it won't fall apart.
