Why not remove the filler tube altogether, new cars usually don't have them.
Or dramatically lower it and fill from bottom.

Very good point, I just discovered that there is no stick in the tube, the level is supposed to be checked only at dealership service (!). There is a stick you can buy from Mercedes, but its not sitting permanent in the tube. (its to long for that) The tube has just a plug at the top. And when checking the level, its done by pushing the stick down so it hits the bottom of the pan, maybe that can be done from under the car with a very short stick. Just downloded the service manual.

I just took the electronic shifter apart, like I suspected, its not rocket sience. Inside the black box is some electronics and 4 optical LED switches that are engaged with a plastic cam on the axle. I think I can fit this black box on the side of stock shifter, by extending the axle and adding some mounts for the box.

It might not fit in the console, have to get the console to see that. (its somewhere in the pile of parts). Maybe if I take away the bulging box for the shifter lamp (relace it with some flat LED instead). So I can get the black box further in towards the shifter. I dont think its a problem. If it is, I just make a notch in the console some how, still nicer than the plastic POS Charger shifter. For the manual shift buttons I have to figure out something.

Now when I think about it, the black box dosen't have to go on the shifter at all, if I keep the stock rod that goes forward, I can put the box in front of the shifter, all it needs is a moving axle with the correct degrees (wich can be figured out), in that case it will be mounted horizontally and maybe fit the console without mods?   TBC.
