    Hi all,
    This 1970 Challenger slant 6 belongs to my friend Al., he asked me to share his ride with the fine folks of CC>Com l (Hopefully Al will soon be joining CC.Com)
    Al purchased this car off the dealer’s lot in 1974 when the original owner traded the car in.  One of the many things of interest is the early build date of this beauty. Sept 18, 1969 and the low vin number 100113, also note the few options offered on this car.
    I love the color combinations this car came with EK2 Go-Mango and H6K4 Burnt Orange interior.
    Al believes that the dealer added to Western Sport options, as this car set on the dealers’ lot for 10 months before it sold.
    Check out all the cool “day two” accessories Al has added to his car. I love all the chrome he added under the hood. He also changed out the Burnt Orange interior for black and added some custom embroidery.  He added the bumper over riders, side molding, and rear wing, as well as 74 shoulder harnesses, flip gas cap, and 225 magnum emblems.

    This car sits outside all year long, but Al takes great care in keeping it covered up.

    Nice! Looks really clean!   :2thumbs:   First time I've ever seen someone add the 73-74 bumperettes to a 70.

    great looking car! interesting timing and #s, my '70 /6 Barracuda is BH23COE100322 built 8/20. don't see many LA built /6 ebodies

    If the Western Sport Special decals were added allot of other harder to add parts were added too..... The wood grained dash is easy, the pedal trim is easy... The belt moulding (trim on the tops of the doors, quarters & back of the hood) not so easy... The rear appliqué not so easy.... Obviously the Special Edition door panels were added...  Bigger 71 & up mirrors easy add-on..   Oh, the rally hood looks good too....

    End of the day a very cool Challenger, nice to see it still running around & in the hands of a long time owner...

    Bill, how would he tell if it came as an factory Western Sport Special? Fender Code?  He doesn't have a build sheet.

    A real WSS would have A91 on the tag/sheet, plus I don't think the package came out until mid year. Still a very cool day 1 Challenger. Mine was a little later in Aug. - JH23C0B102707, plus mine's a Hamtramck car while Al's is from L.A.

    I'm assuming your referring to me but my name is Randy...    Should be an A91 on the fender tag which it doesn't have..

    BTW adding to the list of WSS trim, wheel well trim, lower rocker trim, (another one not many would go to the trouble to add), and rally wheels...  Can't tell on the front valance trim....  But it lacks the vinyl roof which is std on a WSS...

    And I agree WSS was a mid year pkg & this is an early car....

    Yeah, Al and I talked about all the WSS options it has, and that more than likely that it did not come that way from that factory.  :clueless:  That is why the best guess was the dealer added items to help move a car that wasn't selling.

    No worries, I'm terrible about names & certainly not offended... Odd that it got all the trim, you'd think a V8 swap would have moved the car easier... :smilielol: Seriously though Cool Car... These days /6cars probably get more attention than most V8 cars because they are so rare..
