Look at the center hump on the floor, looks like it was A standard!

A minor error in the post. This Challenger was scheduled to be built August 18 1969. A very low VIN at the California assembly plant .
Looks like it originally had a tan interior.

Neat car with the slant 6. Personally I would return it to a manual shift instead of the automatic. Would look great with a four speed rather then the original 3sp manual on the floor. Just a thought, contingent on your preferences!

I had a great conversation with Al last night, I haven't talked for that long in a LONG time (unless it was a tech support call), my cell battery almost died. Al is a great guy with some awesome history in his Challenger, I can't wait to see him bring it back to life and get it back on the road. based on the history we discussed, the pics showing how good of shape it is in are even more impressive. I certainly needed the conversation, it's already getting me re-motivated

That is good to hear. Yes Al is a great guy and very knowledgeable about mopars. I an hoping he will get it back on the road and out to some shows so that others can see this cool time capsule.
