70 BARRACUDA DOOR GLASS ATTACHMENT **HELP NEEDED**
« on: December 02, 2015 - 02:54:58 PM »
Below is a pic of my passenger side door glass with new hardware. The door regulator, lift channel, down bumper etc are installed.

Q1: Does the door glass attach to the LIFT CHANNEL? My gut is telling me yes, cuz the LIFT CHANNEL HOLES ARE 24" on centre and so are the (2) circled mounts in pic.
Q2: Does it take a special washer/nut to secure the widow glass to the LIFT CHANNEL? I.e. is there a washer with felt on it.
Q3: Do you recommend to insert door glass and front track as one piece?
Q4: I have read somewhere here that someone recommended to install both the front and rear track with the window. My rear track does not separate like the LOWER FRONT TRACK SUPPORT. Am I missing something?

Your help is appreciated.

Detroit Muscle did a full episode on installing door glass in a 70 challenger(project ultra violet). A quick search on their website should bring up a fairly good step by step video to help. :2cents:

So...The "lift channel" as you call it, bolts to the two holes circled. The from one you should have a plastic threaded insert and does not require a metal washer. The rear one takes the metal washer plus a felt washer plus rubber hose in the hole.
That channel should be on the regulator sliders and rolled all the way down when installing the glass. The rear track should be in the door, the front track should be on the glass when installing.

UPDATE: That video that c4orce recommended is DETROIT MUSCLE, POWER NATION "PAIN IN THE GLASS". The install starts around the 10:05 mark. Enjoy!
