I got "killed" by a ricer today...
« on: June 01, 2005 - 12:27:52 AM »
Coming home from work today, I happened to see a certain yellow first gen Neon, made to look like an SRT-4 from a distance. Has the wing, 4 doors, bright color, etc. Except, this is an SOHC, stock car with an ugly bodykit. We were both at the stoplight, and, he started revving. I ignored him for 2 reasons. #1: he drove a gay car. #2: I drive a stock, /6 Dart. I won't be winning any races anytime soon. Light turned green, he floored it. I didn't even bother. Why waste my time proving that we both have slow cars? We hit the next light, and, He started talking crap about how new cars are so superior to old cars, replacement for displacement, how his car was so much better than mine, blah blah blah. How can some people be so stupid? :dontknow:

I remember a guy here in Detroit that had a 340 challenger that was midnight blue and he would go around the suburbs of Detroit lookin for a race.  When he found one they would agree to meet at a certain time and place later in the night for the big event.  What they didn't know is the guy had another challenger exactly the same color and everything but with a roller motor big block & slicks.  He would go home, trade cars and go whip ass!!  It would be dark and hard to tell the difference but he didn't stay a secret for very long.  lol

Ghost  . . buy yourself another dart and go to town!!

Ghost, I'd have to say this guy must have been humiliated one too many times going up against the meant-to-go-fast muscle cars, so he say you there with your timid little Dart and figured he could have taken you.  Chances are, had you raced him you probably could have beat him.  But for now, just bite your lip and wait until you drop something nasty under the hood and keep the body looking the same.  I'm sure someone along his lines would pull up alongside you, act like they "own" the streets, then get a bloody good kicking by a four door Dart that looked so timid on the outside, yet had the right combo under the hood. (pss...built 340 or a 360/727 combo)  Always look at it this way; your car is a great sleeper, so anyone will go up to you and challenge you to a race because they figure they'll have an easy win.  However, once you get it looking very mean on the outside nobody will want to even mess with you, unless they have more money than brains and $20,000.00 into an engine.  I'd like to have some stoplight action when my car is done to my liking, but chances are nobody will want to test me cause it's going to be 1) LOUD 2) It'll stand out and 3) the engine's going to just shake the whole car at idle. :grinyes:

That guy with the Challenger had the right idea; drive a mild-mannered car around to setup races with then bring out the big dog when the racing began. :grinyes:    I'd have 318 badging on both cars just to really humiliate his opponents. :grinyes: ;D
