If you use 4 1/2" back spacing on a 15x8 wheel 275/60-15 tires fit on the back of a Challenger with no problem.
I also have the same 15x8 wheel with 4 1/2" back spacing on the front with 245/60-15 tires, no rubbing there either.

No wheel spacers on my Challenger, front or rear.
Rear end is stock Challenger width.

The 4 1/2" back spacing is critical when using a 15x8 wheel.

These are ESPO +1.5 that I just installed on my wife's R/T Challenger.

Springs were installed with a 1967 B body rear end with Dr. Diff's offset hanger kit.

Tires are 275/60-15.

Car currently has no drivetrain installed so it's sitting a little high in the front.

The rear end from Mopar's 1966-1967 and 1968-1969 B body cars are narrower than your Challenger.

You can easily install a B body rear end in your (E body) Challenger by using Dr. Diff's offset leaf spring hanger kit.

The narrower B body rear end installed will allow you to fit wider rims and bigger tires under the rear of your Challenger without cutting or doing major modifications.

Do some searching here and on the internet for Dr. Diff, offset spring hangers, B body rear end, etc.

Offsetting the springs from their stock location to a position closer to the middle of the car allows you to install wider wheels/tires without modifying the wheel wells. In stock form, the leaf springs on an E body are positioned so that they are wider than the wheel wells so they limit how wide a tire you can use. Moving them in removes this restriction. Using the Dr Diff 1" kit  with a 66-69 B body rear housing allows you to bolt it all together with no welding.  You can move the springs in and use the original E body housing and achieve the same width wheel/tire as the B body housing conversion, but it then requires welding on new axle housing perches to align with the new spring location.
