72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

It's a nice car, i think the money is about right for Ford. I was thinking how much a '73 Barracuda would cost if it was in the same condition  :money:  :nono:

I like allot of Fords, the 71-73 Mustangs really don't honor the Mustang role model... Kinda like a fat chick, might be a fun ride but I'll pass....

If you want bargain muscle car projects, look up Falcon prices.

I think these cars are awfully ugly.  Best part of the Nicholas cage version of "gone in 60 seconds" was that they replaced the stupid ugly 71 mustang

Not to sound favourable to a brand or something like that, but wouldn't the chase (not the original 1974) be iconic if they used a HemiCuda? I mean which would be the most rare Muscle Car?

The design of 71 thru 74 Mustangs was based on Fords desire to drop a 429 in. ( The standard 429, not the Boss Nascar motor ). I believe they built some BOSS 429 badged 71 cars, which are considered gold by collectors. But you could not see out the rear glass on these cars with the rear view mirror. Crappy design.   :2cents:                        :rebel:

Boss 351 is a 4V 351C with 4 bolt mains & a solid camshaft... It'll fit in a 67 & later Mustang with no issues.... The 429 needs shock tower mods to fit until the 71 redesign....

The only year Mustang i would ever consider owning is the 69. I had a friend back in high school with the help from his father built a beautiful 69 that was a total basket case. I feel in love with that car and to this day i still think about it. Lots of good times in that ride until he sold it then about a month later it got totaled  :walkaway:

Your correct. The were called Cobra Jet, Super Cobra Jet 429's.     https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang_Mach_1#1971.E2.80.931973

My middle sons favourite car. I showed him the link and said  "hummmm if only you had a job eh that could be on its way to our driveway"

:iagree:  with a caveat in that I like the '70 Mustang too being that it and the '69 share the same body shape, and they both would have to be fastbacks.

Its funny in that I too had a good friend in high school that had a '69 Mach 1 that he built with his dad. I don't know if it really was, or if it was my young impressionable teenage self, but that Mach 1 was a monster! It had a built 428 Super Cobra Jet backed up by a 4-speed and I don't know what kind of gears it had in the rear, but that thing could run like a scalded dog and burn rubber at will. I remember running down the interstate with him and we were passing cars like they were in reverse. It was almost like the "worm-hole effect" on Star Trek - car up ahead and we approached it so fast that it would become a blur in your peripheral vision and then we were past it. That car was scary fast! Unfortunately he blew it up - spun a bearing and some how cracked the block? The 428 SCJ was toast and he wound up replacing it with a 429 that was rather tame compared to the 428 SCJ. I really liked that car and to this day I still think about it from time to time.
