71 Barracuda East Coast
« on: December 13, 2015 - 09:59:21 AM »
Welcome all.  I  picked up a 71 Barracuda 318/A904 project car.  It's going to need some work.  Not new to the Mopar world.  My first car, which I still have, is an original 69 Charger RT that I bought at Carlisle '84.

Here's some info on the Barracuda.

F3 -  Sherwood Green
V1 - Vinyl Top
C16 - Console
C55 - Bucket Seats
B41 - Disk Brakes
G37 - Dual Racing Mirrors
L34 - Road Lights
R35 - AM/FM Radio
S13 - H.D. Suspension with Sway Bar
Air Conditioning

This will end up being a long term project due to other projects currently in the works.  I'm currently in the tear down process.
I've purchased most the of sheet metal.  The direction would be to keep the body and interior looking mostly original. Not sure on color choice?  I've got three colors in mind.  As for power train, looking for more ponies than original.   I like the 'Cuda options.

If this was 1971 and I was sitting at a Plymouth dealership and was ordering a Barracuda, what features would I check off?  This could get interesting.

Looking good so far....long-term projects are nice because you can really concentrate on how you want the car to be and save money to do all of it in the process.

Best of luck, I'll be checking out your progress

I agree with Alnauto.  You're a lot bravery man than I am to tackle all that body work.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Removed the torsion bars, k frame, leaf spings and rear axle.  I decided not to use any air tools on the tear down.  Sore.
