A good converter vender?
« on: December 14, 2015 - 05:17:45 PM »
Who has a good torque converter and has a reasonable price on converters? Looking for a 2800-3200 stall for a 727 that Santa is gonna get me.

I was very happy with Dynamic converters. [now manual trans]

I highly recommend getting a converter that is tweaked for YOUR car. You will get the best performance from that versus one just sitting on the shelf at Summit.

X2. I was running a 9.5" Dynamic Convertor on the street built to my car's specs before converting to manual. Worked great.

Dynamic Converters  , Frank & Shawn are good guys

They will work with your particular combo.

Used their stuff in my race cars for years and street cars too...

I am going with Ken at PTC. He is in Muscle Shoals Alabama , does great work, 90 miles from me and will warraty your application. He can build them for 1000 plus hp or a mild sm blk engine.  He is doing one for my 572 street hemi engine. it made 778 hp @ 5900 and 740 lbs tq at 5200   I take my dyno sheet, car weight and tire/gear size with me.  My suspension and stock appearing is the hardest part. TQ means nothing if it will not hook, and running 354 gears in the high 5's is a very daunting task, to say the least. Soon I will be starting on my 64 1/2 Barracuda . going with a stroked small block in it.  I just picked up 4 of them. So I have enough parts to make a very clean sneaky A body barracuda. 3 have 4 spd's in them though.
