I'll try...as you can see the red paint is deep in the trunk under the parcel shelf....The car has gone through several restorations because there is grey spatter paint and lots of black paint. Plenty of signs of FC7 under the trunk weather-stripe

i worked at a plymouth dearlership in 1970 a fury came in with a noise in the back door.after i took the door apart i found a coke bottle tied to a string and as it swing around it would make a funny noise. but the funny part of it all was the note that was on it. it read ha ha find this rattle.i guess a factory worker was mad at somebody.

I did a program at Buick City where I watched the guy who was installing door panels, although he didn't know I was there. He had a pint of vodka, and he'd take a swig after every door panel he installed. When he finished the bottle he slid it into the door and put a panel over it and sent it on down the line. And then he pulled out another pint  :grinno:

Over the years I have seen a number of unique things in cars that had to emanated from the factory;

- crumpled up coke can in a frame rail; discovered when replacing a trunk floor in a roadrunner.
- a second set of keys and of all things a "Rallye" stick in a 74 Challenger rally. this was my best friend's car and he was the 2nd owner, we are positive that the seats had never been removed. The Rallye sticker was very close to the ones used on the Camaro of the era; cannot figure out how it got there or why. I talked to Eburg @ Mopar Action about that and he was very adamant that Dodge never looked at using the Rallye name on the Challenger. The fact that it was under the carpet and was positively there since the car was built, I can only wonder what was going on.

My car is Honeydew (GY4) and definitely has what appears to be HEMI orange under the parcel shelf. I'll snap a picture tomorrow while I'm off to show you guys.

LOL got jokes huh???  :icon16:

First two are of the bottom of the parcel shelf.

From the interior looking back, even has paint runs on both sides.

Since hemi orange and top banana were the only high impact colors in '72 I guess the car in front of mine was orange. It would be cool to see the car that rolled off before mine.

Just checking if they were not painted, then surely someone painted the package shelf later. My Challenger although painted afterwards externally, it didn't have any paint inside there, exactly at the spots were you have paint. I believe it is factory...
