Had this link sent to me,
Thought our members who are restoring cars needing this roof would find this interesting.

Thanks JS27!! Very exciting for those of us with the V1G on there tag!!  I've been on that board for two years now.  I'm Challenger RT/SE on there.  We've been waiting for a response back from Dale, but haven't heard anything.  We also have a company in Oregon who found 1 yard of the real material tooling up to make a run of it.  It's just not coming fast enough!!  We're going to have to put a boar grain on ours till we get the real deal.  Then, oh joy, we'll remove the windows and trim to replace it.  aarrrrggghhh!!

Thanks for thinking of me!!

REV!

Im so excited for you and your oldman!  That is the first time I have ever seen a gator grain V-Top, pretty cool looking (still not for me though) but I know how much you and your husband want one and how hard you two have been beating the brush looking for the correct material!!!  So good luck on finishing your car!!!

Thanks CG!! It's been a long, hard battle.  We'll live with the boar grain for a year or so, then put the gator on there (when/if we get it).  It's gonna cost a pretty penny (at least $600) so I've been told.  I love it...looks like the 70's to me!

Wow, that Gator Grain sure looks nice!  It really matches up well next to the original!

Rev-It-Up ,
Yea...my RT/SE has the V1G code.  But way back before I owned the car it was replaced with some houndstooth pattern.  Right now there is very little left of any roof material on the car.

When we bought our car (6 years ago), it had the original gator grain on there, but it was all tore up.  We called legendary at that time to see about getting a replacement.  They had one and wanted $800 for it.  We laughed and said we'll get that later....DOH!!!  I still kick myself for not getting that top back then.  I hope this deal comes through.

:dontknow: Have you called Lengendary back? They just may still have it? I'm sure others who inquired about it may have thought the same way....................need their number? :  1-800-363-8804... Good Luck. Personally if your waiting on the gator grain I'd just paint the top the same body color until you can find it, Why pay a couple hundred + for something that is going to be tore off in and undertermined amount of time?...........But hey, I have ole Scottish roots, lol.

Don't forget Revs car is an SE so it will have a fiberglass plug around the rear window. It's easier to put a vinyl roof on it than make the fiberglass look good.

Oh, Legendary knows us as the "gator grain people"!  We have called maaaaannny times over the past several years hoping that they might have found some in a warehouse somewhere.  Nope...they just laugh at us and say "sorry man...it's just not available!"

Yep...absolutely right.

Sorry, I know a vinyl top car requires more body/prep work when you decide to not put it back on, there is that "ugly" weld seam at the body parts seam, but honestly I was unaware of any extra or other problem areas with an SE model such as you have mentioned. I don't fully follow that special problem. Well I guess Rev. by the time both tops are installed you will have about $1500.00 invested, that's a bummer. Well I can tell you what this ole Scottsmen would do,lol

Does this top get the gator grain trim for the rear window? I think I've seen it for the grand coupe, but not sure about challengers.
