Hmmmmmm.....
« on: June 01, 2005 - 10:32:44 PM »
Today, I was told that the slant 6, and, the turbos from the 2.2 liter Chargers actually go pretty well together, and, I know where I might be able to pick one of those turbos up pretty cheaply...  Maybe turbo the Dart?  What do y'all think? :dontknow:

You're not the first to do it.... I know a guy named Charlie_S (runs around the slant six boards) with a turbo'ed, fuel injected slant... hehe!

Hold yourself back & save your money towards that GTX. The more stock & slow the Dart stays, the richer you will be & the longer it will stay in one piece. Things start really breaking when you go faster. I learned that with my Scamp after the 7-1/4" rear end couldn't keep up with the modified V8 & trans.

I had one of those slant six in an Aspen, that motor was no power house but man it sure was dependable.

Well, it wouldn't be that much of a power gain.  Just enough to make it more fun.  And, since it would only cost me about 1k, roughly, it wouldn't take much from my GTX fund.

The plan was to keep this car as a daily driver for a while, then, down the road, make it a drag car.  Meaning, I'd be doing some major modifications to it, eventually.  So, actually, putting money into the interior and such would be a waste of $$, IMO.
