That was at Nats. this past August, you need to somehow read the paper in the vinyl pocket on the car if possible. If that is legit it was a one off expermental car that was built as you see it and was wrecked in testing. It sat for years and this current owner was told about the car and he was able to buy it and restore it to the build specs. I had some very detailed pics of it while at Nats., including the fender tag which read only something to the effect of "expermental car". I know, :worthless: you tell that to my d@mn puter, somehow all my pics from the Nats and Carlisle last year were lost or sent into cyber space, at any rate I sure as hell don't have them anymore :stomp:  :burn: :banghead: Beautiful car and most professionally done !

Now im a beleiver in Mopar history, to make me 100% sure that this car is a real Pilot/Experiment I would have to see a pic of the car in a wrecked state.

In 1967 my uncles friends father (I know cusions, mothers, brother) was a Chrysler Exec and they got to take the Pilot cars home and drive them.  Well according to my Uncle and my father the kids of the Exec (Uncles friends) took out a prototype wing car cruising Gratiot and drag racing up and down all night.  The kids totaled the car ran into a light pole or something.  My Dad says he remembers those kids father saying they set chryslers back 5 years of development.  The kids responce was "we didnt loose a race all night!!!" LOL!!!  The only reason I beleive this story is 1. My Dad told it to me.  2. Its one of those storys that come up at all the reunions about how Uncle Tims friends sneaked out and stole there dads company car, seems the whole family knows the story.  Just one of those storys you know.

Mopar wouldnt have made an experimental "winged" car in 66 because the never had a problem with aerodynamic till 68/69 when the talladaga started smoken there butts and then dodge/plymouth said we gotta do something that when they came out with the 681/2 charger 500 with the extended flat nose then in 69 they tried the pointed nose and wing and it done AWSOME that was the daytona and then in 70 plymouth joined in with the superbird!! 68-70 was known as the aero wars!!
