That would be a great car to build. Weird how it's VIN number is only two numbers after the purple/white 383 4spd Shaker Challenger I restored a couple of years ago.

As rare as the car is, this seems like a high price for a car needing what appears to be a total body rebuild to the extreme and missing many parts.
What would a rare car in this condition sell for?

There are some real shaker fanatics out there that you pay a premium for real N96 cars, Challengers especially. This one is in a great colour combo and it's a four speed !
I don't think the asking price is that much off the mark, you have to start somewhere. I think a more reasonable price would be in a $10K range only because it's NOT going to be matching numbers when restored and the lack of a BCS is a huge negative.

The one I restored was very similar, no numbers, no sheet, needing metal work and missing parts...I believe it sold for $18K back in the day.

Hmm: I agree, it was a neat car. I think the N96 option on a kit car like this one will only increase the value by what the parts will cost. That's for a potential buyer to judge on his own though of course. I wouldn't want to be paying the phone bill and parts bill putting this one together. Someone will enjoy the hunt though.

The car is missing one of the most costly items , the original shaker hood. George

I agree about the car being something nice when it is restored but I would never want to do this one in the condition it is in. I'm sure it will go for quite a bit less.

Since the advent of the internet & Barrett Jackson on prime time I doubt it'll happen again...

In all seriousness the car this thread is about is an extremely desirably optioned E body, it won't sell cheap, maybe 11-12K....

Unfortunately Dynacorn is not making a 1971 Challenger body, only 1970.

This car isn't that bad, I've restored a lot worse. :2cents:

Same question I always ask.
Once you put $75k into, above the selling price, it will be worth how much?
