The new pump, from C.I., arrived needing a lot of work.  I had to disassemble the tank and reassemble correctly.  "Feet" grommets are incorrect, I'll need to order more.  I hope the pump works.

Wow, a new pump and you're already disassembling it, replacing feet and hope the pump works? That doesn't sound promising.

Over $200.  There's five problems already repaired and I haven't even set it in the car yet...

I've plumbed the hydraulics.  The cylinders are laying on the floor.  I've temporarily wired the underdash switch and harness into the back seat area to start bleeding the air out.  I'll cycle numerous times and wait hours for the air to naturally rise to the pump.  It's progressing, but now I'm thinking this might also be why so many need to add fluid later.

That certainly is one way to do it but I could see that taking forever.

I bled my hydro system with everything installed, kinda like bleeding a brake system. I barely loosened the fittings at the cylinders. When running the pump, it pushes the air out then I tightened the fittings. I started with the bottom fittings on both cylinders first with the top down, then did the same thing for the top fittings on both cylinders. Took about 30 minutes. And I started out with completely new stuff like you.

But hey, there is more than one way to skin a cat.  :2thumbs:

Bled.  Hooked up.  Tops working.  No leaks.  Time to start tidying things up.

OK.  My C.I. pump was clocked erroneously, feet bent, wrong grommets, wired wrong, NOW it's leaked out all over the rear passenger compartment.   I'm PO'd.  Who makes a pump that isn't a POS!
