If you put jack stands in just the right spot ahead of the rear wheels , one person can lift up the front end to install the k-frame. Jackstands also give you extra height for working.

If you plan on using an engine hoist, you need to consider that the slinging needs to be done so that you can get the load on the floor BEFORE the arm of the hoist rests on your rad support or header panel. This will probably require removal of the hood, which isn't a bad idea anyways. Have fun, but be safe!  :cheers:

Yes, I was surprised how light the front end is now. Got mine on jackstands right in front of the leafspring mounts, no fenders or hood mounted, and I can easy lift the whole car up with one hand.

Yes, I saw that on my Challenger too, guess old cars are not that heavy after all...

Stupid question, when I unbolt the transmission crossmember from the body, will the trans stay put or do I need to support it?

Assuming your tranny is still bolted to engine, and the driveshaft pulled out.   It will hang down some until engine mounts stop the engine from coming lower in the back end, however, its a good idea to put a stand under the tail, to prevent too much twisting on the engine mounts. 

If your doing a top pull, and have already pulled the bolts out of the engine mount, and raised the engine with a hoist so that the engine mounts clear the k frame then you can just let it drop to the floor.   Or again support with a small stand, box, jack, whatever.

 :iagree: My A-833 went down and down, so I put a block of wood. It scared me a little, of how much the trans was lowered.
