New to boards
« on: January 02, 2016 - 01:07:30 AM »
Hey everyone. I'm new here because I just recently purchased a two owner 74 cuda. It's a 360 4bbl automatic car. It has the numbers matching motor and drive train however it has several "day two" upgrades, and two repaints. In 78 it was painted from its O.E. B5 blue to white with multi-colored period correct graphics. A few years after that it was repainted to its current plum crazy purple. I was told it was 1 of 85 built with its options, however I did not verify before my purchase. And to be quite honest, I don't care if it is or not, because "collectibility" was not my primary reasoning for the purchase. I don't care what it's nominal value is, because I purchased it for one reason and one reason only. My father has always wanted a father son project. But because of issues beyond his control he could never afford one. Now two heart attacks into his 70s I was presented with the opportunity to make that particular dream come true for the man who chose to be my father when my biological one wanted nothing to do with me. And the icing on this cake, is I have a 13 year old son that I, we get to share this experience with. 3 generations wrenching on a mopar in a two car garage, nights, weekends, on a parts Guy's salary. I can't think of a better way to make some memories. So as the project progresses, we decode the VIN and fender tags, we will decide which way to take this project and I can't wait to see where this goes. I thank you in advance for any help I may receive from anyone on here in the future months and years to come

Welcome from western NY.  Best of luck on your multi-generation build.  It's a great investment of time, especially with your son.

As far as dealing with the photo size, I email myself photos from my iPhone during which I can choose a lower resolution and then use the smaller size for uploading to c-c.com  The approach isn't elegant, but it works.

Welcome: Factory 360 cars are quite rare especially matching #'s. I would suggest keeping the mods to simple add-ons with that one. Sounds like a neat car.

Lol. I give up on photos. I emailed them to resize them, but when I save them back to my phone it converts the file from jpg to jpeg. Lol

Glad to see a pic!
That's one cool story about your family and all!

Please post the fender tag when you get a chance. Sounds like a really cool ride!

Try uploading your pics to Photobucket or imageshack.  OR any picture hosting site.  Then they upload here in large format and will not get deleted on the forum clean ups.
Pictures like this from photobucket.   You like Ram trucks, yes?
