Front bumper removal
« on: January 04, 2016 - 01:19:34 PM »
What's the best procedure for removing the front bumper? I took out the four bolts accessible from directly under the bumper expecting the bumper and "beam" that it bolts to to come right off. Didn't happen.  :faint:  How should I go about this?

Ya I wondered about that. I've never taken the front valance off before. Oh boy, oh boy!  :working:

I am not sure what car this is about, but if you have front bumperettes; the bolts that hold them on may also go through one of the brackets. You can remove all of the carriage bolts and the bumper will not come off until you remove the bumperettes.

Definitely drop your valance. Much easier after it's out of the way.

Didn't have the tractor plugged in and it's too cold to start it. Between nuts that came off ok, bolts that twisted off and three that I had to grind off I did get everything taken apart, both front and rear.  :cooldancing:  A little sand and paint on the brackets and a pair of new bumpers and my car will be worth...........the same as it was before. But it will look better.  :woohoo:

Murray, talk nice to Alan, he's got buckets of bolts and J-nuts and it sounds like you'll be needing a few. Give that bumper deal I mentioned some more thought; it's a very nice piece for a nice Cdn$ price.
