Here are some pictures of my working shop, a bit messy but I cannot work in it and keep it clean and organized at the same time..

I'm jealous, I'd like a to have a workshop like that some day !  Even if it's not clean or organized...

After 26 years in the Army and moving every 2-5 years, I planned to retire and purchased a house in a sub-division, it has a large 2 car garage, however the HOA sucked. a couple of years later I got a promotion and began looking for a place in county, my stipulation was it had to have a shop and the ability to shoot guns on the property; I got both. I have expanded that shop twice (added 1 stall on the right side and pushed out the left side by 6'). Then I built the second shop to store all of the toys so I don't have to keep moving them around in order to work on something.

It's not my shop but it's where I'm storing my car for the winter. It was just built in the last year and has in floor heat. It belongs to a neighbour/friend/customer. I didn't know he had a lift in it until I took the car there in Nov.

Sheeeshh!! You guys make it pretty tough to compete! 70 chall set the bar so high that I can drive under it. LOL As for onebadfish, don't go shooting your mouth off to the wife too much about that barn house, or you might just talk yourself out of a potentially most excellent playhouse! Check out the price of that barn board- it wouldn't surprise me that you get enough for it to do the new siding for free. Both you guys have awesome man caves and now I'm suffering from garage envy- bad.

:iagree:  I am with you Ian. Good on you guys for living the dream!!

Ian, just to make you feel a little better about your shop, her is a pic of mine (of course you have seen first hand how tight it is!!!)

I have made some changes to the layout at the front...but that does not change the size any!!!

Heres a pic of my shop.  It features a 50 x 30 footprint, 16' ceiling, loft, 4 doors (2 on each end) for drive thru, and a 50' work bench down one side.   ....Well almost..... maybe spring...   :dunno:  too much rain right now.

And there's Fred, tucked away snug as a bug, waiting to get some love in the new shop!

All I can say is that no matter how big you build your shop, it is never big enough.
