Tools and Equipment section. For sale ?
« on: January 06, 2016 - 03:49:17 PM »
It looks like the tools and equipment section is fairly popular. I was thinking if we could add to it with "for sale " items to keep them all in one spot. Would that be a pinned or child board thing.  :clueless:   What do ya'll think. ?  I know I have tools/equipment I bought new for one job and will never need again. I'd rather offer them up here to members than deal with Craigslist. Comments ???   Mods ????

Sounds like a solid plan. How about a "loan" board as well or perhaps a sale/loan section. I am thinking that there may be people who have specialty tools that they would loan to other members assuming the loanee wanted to pay for shipping, perhaps a deposit, etc? just throwing it out there, it could be a source for some problems as well, but what isn't.

My initial idea for the section was to showcase new tools/equipment on the market that we find. Showoff tools/equipment we have that works good, etc. I have purchased tools from members that have posted them for sale on various sections, just thought if it was all in one place it would help. The loan a tool idea is awesome 70chall440. I know as I walk around my shop I run across stuff I've had forever, I'll never use again. I buy tools from people that stop by my shop that need some money to pay a bill ( happened today ) I helped him out, if I can make some beer money  :drunk: I'm happy and save someone that needs it a few bucks.  Just a thought.

Yea I was thinking the same thing as I see members on here who are just beginning that want to do work on their cars but do not have the financial ability or desire to purchase some tools (perhaps they intend to only do something one time). My only hesitation would be that inevitably someone will loan a tool, break it or damage it and the loaner will be upset. You might want to post some guidelines or helpful tips or something; some people are very particular about their tools (those are the ones who should not be loaning something out). That said, I am sure people can figure this out on their own as well, however there will undoubtedly be some hurt feelings that will spill over onto the forum.

On this same vein or in conjunction with it, there should be an ability to review tools and brands.
