How'd go?

For the Superbowl, Chili was the main course.
It was the highlight of the game.

1 gallon slow cook crock pot
1 whole Onion fine chopped
2-3 cans diced canned tomatoes
2-3 cans of Bush Kidney beans
5-6 cloves of finely chopped Garlic
1 1/3 lbs Ground Beef
1/ 1/2 lbs cubed stir dry chunked beef
Carrol Shelby's Chili Recipe in the box
Quality Olive oil
Honeybaked Cornbread in the bag
3 colored Pepper
1-2 Green Jalapeno's

Ground Beef: Cook with chopped Onions, salt, pepper, and olive oil about 5-6 Tsps.
Leave the juices.
Stir fry beef: cook, season separate and drain.
Put all ingredients in. Watch the Salt. I add half a packet.

Slow cook 2-4 hours till done.
The Honeybaked Corn Bread is killer! goes great with the Chili.

All I can say Wow! OMG!!! that is some good bbq sauce!!! Nice and sweet with a little heat! Perfect! Just right! It was so good I ordered a case of this stuff for give outs and myself. Thank you again for the recommendation! I wish they were on the east coast! That's an awesome chili recipe! I like the corn bread idea, now that's a GOOD combo. :thumbsup: I got a electric pressure cooker for Christmas ( like the one you see on TV) and I've been addicted to cooking on this thing. I can't believe the intensity of the flavors that this produces, as well as the simplicity of use. If you like to cook, you must check this out! I haven't used a stove in months LOL! :bigsmile:

Good deal! If 72hemi can bring the sauce, i can help "pitmaster" at the C-C.com tent! I'll bring the chicken for bbq so everyone can enjoy! I'm going to brew up that chili recipe, in the pressure cooker i think, and post back. It must be out of this world! Buy, borrow or steal one of these electronic pressure cookers and check it out. You won't be disappointed, believe me! :2thumbs:

Oil, fully coat both sides with Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper is all I do.
Yes,The irregular grains and size stick and hold to the meat better.
And it will not taste salty, and to me Lays potato chips are too salty.

Make sure to brine the meat and cover in thick bacon.
That'll keep it from getting too dry.

Some good Venison marinades are online.

Thanks for the tip Mike! I used a mustard base BBQ with a brine on the 1st shoulder I did in my smoker last summer and it turned out awesome. Meat fell off the bone!

:iagree: Nice to see that we have some BBQ Guru's here on C-C.Com! Does anyone have any experience with the "Santa Maria" style BBQ that is popular on the West coast? I'm interested is smoking some tri-tip steaks and that style grill seems the way to go and they look serious. There is no info here on the East coast.

No it's not but that sounds interesting as well! The Santa Maria is an adjustable steel grate over the top of an oakwood fire pit. The origin is from Mexico to Cali i believe. I'll post a pic. It looks easy enough to build, the other type i was interested in is a Texas style side burner smoker... also wood fired. The heat is offset to the side so there is no flare ups, just heat and smoke. Everything is cooked low temp and slow. The way it should be!
