1970 Barracuda Convertible Project - B7/B5/White Top

Listing for a friend - 1970 Barracuda Convertible Project (BH27G0B). Car came from the factory with B7 blue exterior/B5 blue interior, white convertible top, blue body side molding, 318, ps, A/C, rallye cluster, console slap stick, fender turn signals, power drums, and manual top. Car comes with its original fender tag and build sheet. The car is very complete with all its convertible specific parts and has not been blown apart yet. Needs a full restoration along with metal work (please see pictures.) Very unique color combination and deserves to be put back on the road again. Located in Southern CA. 25K obo

Price is definitely negotiable and he is open to reasonable offers - he's not trying to hide that it needs metal.  If someone is serious I'm more than happy to pass along any offers.

Like it or not it's still a 70 Barracuda convertible, someone would pay his price... It needs allot but I've seen much worse E body convertibles sell for the 15K range...

How much metal needs to be replaced down low?  I'm guessing the firewall, front & rear floor pans, trunk & extensions, mabey both doors.....?

What is actually left that can be salvaged?  Are the quarter panels available from AMD, are the convertible quarters any different than a standard body Cuda?

I like it! Can someone shed some light on how much metal work is involved here?  I wish that I'd seen this project before I started restoring my 74 Barracuda.

It needs a lot of things, maybe the price is a little more negotiable. If someone is looking for a good optioned 318 Barracuda convertible, he'll pay that cash.

Very cool project but it needs a ton of work.

 :iagree: First thing I'd want to do is a through inspection, it's obviously rusty but pictures can't show how bad it really is, could be better or worse than the pictures make it look.... 15 minutes crawling over & under the car would tell you allot.... 

On the up side it's a 70 Barracuda Convertible, it's coded for Good Colors, Rally Dash, Disc Brakes & A/C... So it will find a new home without dropping the price much if at all.....

Regular hardtop quarters can be used on convertibles as they are made from the hard top ones to begin with.  Several members have posted pics using hardtop quarters. 

From what I remember (haven't seen car in awhile) it would need most of what you stated.  Trunk floor/extensions, fenders, lower pass quarter patch, probably floor patches I would have to pull carpet to see the extent for sure.  I don't remember what the bottom of the doors looked like but I did not see any rust issues in the door jams. Couple small rust spots by hood hinges.  Rails looked reasonably solid with obvious surface rust. I don't remember seeing any major damage to rails like I have seen on some other rusted projects where you literally see into the rail itself and major breakage points. 

Like 1 Wild R/T said it is a complete 70 convertible project with nice colors and options. It does need work as stated but there have been far worse convertible projects that have traded hands with less documentation, parts included, etc.

I hope that helps answer your questions as its not my car personally.  Just trying to simply pass along any serious buyers.  Seller's reasonable and open to offers.

Quarters are different from hardtop to a vert. There is a guy, think from moparts that reworks regular quarters into convertible quarters. Seen these on Jegs the other day.

I am another who really likes the cars pedigree, but without an in person inspection, it might just need almost every piece of metal to get it back on the road.

No power top code (P37). But i dig that its a EB7/V3W/H6B5 color! And that its a Rallye guage & A/C car to boot!
