    72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

    1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

    I don't know bob, I have a hard time believing that the 427 they put in a purpose built drag car makes less HP than the last gen of 427 vette which made 505.  I think they are sandbagging the numbers a bit.  When was the last time u head less than 500hp sound like that? Lol besides, the current 2015 challenger drag pack challenger w/ gen3 426 hemi runs mid 8s  :2thumbs:

    torque is more responsible for pulling the wheels.....that's a race car so we don't know the weight distribution but I suspect it has a lot more on the rear end given that it is intended for the strip.

    Dodge has the Drag Pak cars.  I believe they were running in the eights.

    Hmmm... Not sure how they're only making 64 hp/litre with a modern motor that sounds like THAT.

    Those Stockers probably make around 700 or so h.p....

    pretty good for a 9" tire...

    Not cheap either...

    Found this!  Probably has a 4000 rpm converter in it, and weights 3200. And has a powerglide!

    :iagree: Yep, somewhere between 7-800hp I'd say. I think Moroso has a calculator that if you plug in the et, mph and weight of the car, it'll give you a hp figure. Think of it, Sox & Martin's SSA hemi ran around the 10.3 @ 135mph range and if you believe IT was only 425hp; well then I've got a nice bridge in Brooklyn for sale you may like. LOL  :cheers:
