340 oil pressure sensor
« on: January 18, 2016 - 07:02:40 PM »
Does anyone know of a second threaded hole on a 340 block to install a second oil sender?  I know of the one in the rear by the distributor.   I have thought  about adding   "t" at the rear sender. however it seems impossible to get the correct 1/8 27 npt thread all I've seen is 1/8 28 npt.

the line for the oil pressure gauge on my 340 actually comes off the oil filter housing.   I can send a pic if you're interested.

Not sure what you are talking about? (27 vs 28???) 1/8 npt is 1/8 npt. There are not different thread counts for NPT. A tee will work fine if you don't have another place to tap into.

The hole by the distributor is to only one I know of.  You can put a T on it.

Here is the  tee I bought     1/8 NPT IFF Adapter Tee to 4AN 3 Way Fitting        http://www.ebay.com/itm/271399748519?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

When I couldn't  thread them together, I checked the theads with a thread gauge from my tap/die set. I found out the thread on the tee is a 18 and the thread for the 340 is a 1/8 npt 17.

Is there any chance that the T is metric?
