Need Auto Transport Mt Zion, IL to Edmonds, WA
« on: January 18, 2016 - 08:25:33 PM »
Hey guys,

Been working over a month now trying to get a reasonable Open Carrier Auto Transport from Mt. Zion, IL 62549 to Edmonds, WA 98020 for a 1970 Challenger I purchased.

As I understand it, the challenge is getting a trucker to drop into Mt. Zion whom is also heading way out west, especially this time of year.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

The guy to use is Bill Squires from Bill's Auto Works. I will not use anybody else, unfortunately I don't think he goes across the Rocky mountain passes during the winter months.
Stay far away from Trulyvintage as many others have found out on here & many other sites he has been banned from!

Thanks for the referral, although after checking online appears a guy with a Super Bee is not too happy with him due to hail damage that should have been avoided by ducking for cover once sited.  Will keep on looking.

If you need a out of the way delivery you might try a larger company like Intercity.  http://www.intercitylines.com/  They can have good pricing if they have a full load.  Can't remember what I had them ship last, but I remember they did a good job and it was pretty cheap.

Avoid Jim at Truly Vintage at all cost.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I ponied up additional funds to have a hopeful pickup commitment by January 29th, so we will see if that happens.  Going to check the carriers insurance Monday to determine/verify all potential perils are covered (hail, etc).

If you notice, the website that mostly made up story is on is owned by Trulyvintage, a bottom of the barrel type transporter. he is very jealous of Bill's business success, equipment & how well he is regarded with his customers. His real name is Jim Jarzabek & if you do a Google search of him, you will see why he thinks he needs to bash good transporters to get business.

I agree with Cody, look for a larger operation for something like that. Both being out of the way and a long distance will make it difficult for a smaller company to handle. Are you sure you want to use an open carrier for that kind of distance though? I'd be more inclined to go enclosed. If you're curious about cost at all, you can use the https://www.a1autotransport.com/ website and they'll give you a free estimate. Generally a good idea to do some price comparison though.
