OK... this has become interesting (I'll give Galen 99% accuracy... I respect all he's done).
As for the T/A AAR TBs.... I cloned my Challenger into a T/A in the late 70s... completed by 1978. I had immediate access to an OE Service parts manual (and worked with the local Mopar OE parts dealer) ... and the new TBs I purchased were the same part numbers as for Hemi and 440-6 Challengers and for the T/A AAR cars.
(Note: The cloning was done only to meet racing class rules at that time... so to assure my car would be a spec-T/A with the SCCA for Solo II racing in F/Stock... the rest is history as I later changed classes up to E/Street Prepared and changed/improved many things to the suspension... TBs were one of the first things to improve upon -- trying different sizes... eventually settling with the largest available of 1.24" diameter..... I'd made a lot of studies on available TBs at that time, so, that's where I stand my case.)
The best thing about cloning is that you can drive/race and enjoy the car far greater than a factory original which typically won't be driven as much, or used as the car was intended for.
