Prepping New 1971 Challenger Fender

Hey Guys,

In the next few months I'm going to be assembling the 71. I have new Goodmark fenders that I will be putting on. 

What are your thoughts on prepping the inside of the fenders?  Should I use undercoating, maybe POR15, maybe just Rustoleum or something different?  Or maybe I shouldn't do anything?

What are your thoughts?  Thanks

               I'm using POR 15 on an S10 frame right now and I can tell you it is tough stuff. Follow directions to the T.   :rebel:

Call me silly but I would etch prime, epoxy seal, topcoat and then bedliner them. The idea being to give an absolute waterproof skin on there with the bedliner on the outside to prevent rock bruising.

First, what are your long term plans for your car? all original, driver, full show, resto mod?

Based on your answers, is what you should do the inner fenders. 

all original = primer and body color over sprsy, then under coating.

Driver/resto mod  = rubberized under coating.

Full show = Painted body color

:iagree: yep, with the proviso that I'd also rustproof them. Waxoyl is a non-petroleum based product that VW/Audi specify as the ONLY one they'll allow on their cars and keep the warranty. Just my  :2cents:
