70 Cuda H code 340 auto TX9 black with black interior
« on: January 26, 2016 - 03:03:28 PM »
I know a guy that has a 70 BS23 H code 340 auto TX9 Black on Black Cuda.  The car is in original paint that is decent and interior is nice for all original.  What do you guys think this would be worth?  It does not appear to have any rust issues but I have not looked under the car yet.   :2thumbs:rt

You have a black/black auto AAR Cuda and you want to know what it's worth ?
Lots of variables there...Condition, documentation, numbers matching etc... :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Yup: Lots of variables but I would say it brings a premium over any other colour, similar car. How much is hard to say but I would say on a finished car the black could be worth $20k to some people. On a project, maybe $5k? It's really hard to pin down and I am not the guy that would pay for a colour but some are.

Hey Scott, Sorry but I think I will take a shot at it first!  This is not an AAR Cuda but just a 340 auto Cuda, would be better if it was an AAR or I would really like it if it was a big block 383-440 with a pistol grip!  I think I can buy it for 30K but I'm thinking that is probably all the money, what do you think?

A "J" in the VIN is AAR Cuda.....a 340 Cuda would have an "H" for a fifth digit  :2cents:

An AAR hiding in plain sight as a Cuda 340 maybe?  :dunno:

Mike, I think you need to investigate further on this one ...

If you can buy it for $30k do it quick before the seller realizes its an AAR...

Ok, my bad.  It is an H code 340 not an AAR.  I wish but it's not.  But it's still a TX9 '70 BS23 Cuda all original.  So is it still worth 30K if there is no rust?

Less of a premium for an H code. Maybe an extra $5k on a done car, less on a project. Just guesses. J-code X9 would be very desirable.
