Use a 1215 intake gasket to block the heat crossover this will keep the intake & carbs cooler , the Coolcarb spacer would be an awesome addition also , just be aware the choke will not work properly so you can add an electric assist or disconnect the choke , pumping the throttle when warm is a killer for sure crank it first & add fuel slowly while cranking to keep it on the lean side .

:iagree: I have the same quirk going on, although it is much better running the "blend" mentioned earlier. Do not pump the throttle when warm (why would you need to anyway?) and hold open 1/4-1/2. Crank the engine and let the smoke clear. After a few minutes of cool fuel entering the carbs, its back to normal. Blocking the exhaust cross over and adding a Coolcarb insulators would be the next step. I don't need to run a choke as this thing warms up quickly (actually keeping it cool is the challange LOL). Just my 2cents.

The cooling system isn't that hard to keep below the range.

Most folks will go to an aluminum rad and have good success but there are tons of folks with stock setups with clutch fans/shrouds and the proper thermostats setup which work just fine.

Sounds good. I'll switch to the 1215 on a day that I feel like pulling my intake. Lol.
