Yes, as long as the vinyl is removed from the body of the car.

Thanks. Good, how is the vinyl attached to the body, I know its stapled to a long list somehow, do I need ro remove those staples or can I unscrew the list? WIll it stretch out as good as it is now if I put it back in th esame position later?

Remove the back seat, remove the well liner, remove maybe 15 T bolts  now the back area is loose, lower the top... If the four little rubber plugs are in their holes remove them, generally they are long gone...  Remove the two upper bolts mounting the top on each side, loosen the third bolt..  get an assistant to help lift the top assembly out of the car...

Don't mean to hijack the post.. 1 Wild R/T I need to remove the Chrome trim across the top of windshield.  Tried but the tar sealer is to hard to cut thru. Used hair dryer to heat trim but no success........ I was thinking taking
wire and pulling thru like removing windshield.  Any input would be more than helpful.

I'm assuming your referring to the wide trim that wraps around the windshield frame? Windshield removed? Screws hidden in the windshield channel area removed? At that point the trim normally comes loose pretty easy... Someone may have had it off previously & used some type of glue?

Yes the top wide trim.  All original. original windshield. I know about the screws but the factory went wild with the sealer.. I got under the trim with a wide blade knife but to much tar sealer.  Tried hair dryer heat just made it more gummy.

Removed the frame with the top attached today, did not even disconnect the pump motor, was easy, worked fine. Thanks for the info!

Glad it worked out... When you put it back those two locations on each side where there were originally rubber plugs... Insert 1/2" rods through them to get the top aligned the way it was at the factory....

I had no rubber plugs, there was 3 bolts on each side, 2 front and one rear on the frame, do you mean the rear hole?

Look at the frame and the area where it bolts to, you'll see two 1/2" holes in each location.. Those are for alignment...  Not the bolt holes, the alignment holes are inside the hole hole pattern...If you don't see it post photos & I'll point them out...

Aha, OK, I will look at it, I though it was the boltholes.

I guess it's the hole in between the 2 front boltholes? There is a rubber plug, but there is no hole behing it that goes thru.
Follow up question, if the frame is should be exactlly aligned with those holes, why is there an adjustment possibilty with the boltholes?

1st will this post..

Ok it posted the holes with arrows are 1/2" & there are matching holes in the frame.... two per side a total of 4 alignment holes...

Adjust all ya want but the factory used those holes so if you use those holes you'll be close... I've see guys move the top around but generally it's trying to compensate for something else...
