...and then there is the popular V21 hood treatment, that looks exceptional on a TB3 car:

My 2 cents: Make yourself happy with the color you want.

I had an original petty blue 73.  Didn't like it at first, but over time it really grew on me.  I'd leave it if it has the tags and such.
no tag cars should be built into whatever the new owner wants.

Paint it what you want.  Just don't remove the fender tag or build sheets from the car.  Then in 30 years when it is sold by your grand kids the new owners can return it to new.

Very nice!
I'd love it either color and V21 TB3 is awesome... V21 treatment on any color is a favorite of mine.
So many colors I like and very few on Cuda's I don't...

Lol! I wondered who would step up. I remember when I was a kid I never liked the looks of the dog dish hubcaps right from the get go. But hey, that's just me. I know a lot of people like them and I can respect that. Bumperettes on the other hand, well that's another matter. I picked up new bumpers on the weekend and guess what's not going back on the car.

L@@K'in good.   Keep the Petty Blue.

We changed our AAR from F8 to M3 back in 1986. Didn't know better back then.
My son was 17 then.
He did bring home some hot chicks........ and lots of trophy's.
Second paint in 2006.  Still M3.     :bricks1:

It is a really tough question and every person has their own opinion. To me...if it's numbers matching keep it original color. Otherwise make it the color you want it. It can always go back to original later.    :2thumbs:

I thought the same way. I used to think they were called "poverty caps" for a reason. Like that's what you ordered when you either had no money for anything better or you planned on custom rims on "day two" anyhow. But now on some cars they look better than custom rims IMO .
I agree about the bumperettes though...

I think that grey 71 would look better w/ chrome lugs and chrome dust cap...no poverty caps!  As far as the color...I'd do Winchester Grey with the V21 hood treatment in the organisol.
