New Louisian member
« on: February 03, 2016 - 08:14:38 AM »
Good morning from a new member. My new son in law (nice guy) has a 1972 sun roof Challenger that he had in high school. We brought back to the shop here in SW Louisiana to begin a restoration. Originally black on black but some where in Alabama time it became green. Has an American Sunroof placard on headliner so it looks like someone had an extra $484 bucks in 1972. Car is very solid and has a lot of options including factory air. All the under hood AC components are missing for now but he may know where they are. We are going to store the correct 318 and slap a six pack in it for cruise etc. I have done A body Cudas as we run the NHRA SS/AH hemi shootouts with our Spyphish Reher Morrison team. I am sure questions will arise on the Challenger. Great forum and sure glad Al Gore invented it. LOL Stephen

Welcome aboard...      Sounds like a cool car...

Will you be running the SpyPhish this season?  I was talking with Frank and Wyman Barnett a few weeks ago and they said they were going to make an effort to get all of their SS/AH Cudas on the track this season. They did the Hemi in my '69.  I will be following along with these cars and hopefully you guys will be out there competing. Good luck my Mopar brethren.....

It runs! Rode around the yard. Power brakes need a lot of work, almost hit the house. BUT all electrical stuff works, motor smokes a little from 68000 miles of use. Probably valve seals as compression is good. Interior is a 9 out of 10, will use it all. Trunk latch brace broken, hood hinges sprung and stuck a screw in gas tank leak so we could do some burnouts. Has a 3:40ish pos 8 3/4. Built to order May 31 H cost, 318/230hp, vinyl top, sun roof, full door panels, USA spec, PB, PS, wood grain console, bucket seats, tint glass, dual chrome mirrors, AC, roof drip rail, fender trim, AM/FM 10 watt, white accent stripes, 26 inch radiator. That is on tag and on the car as well. The wing on the back was added by Cody. Very good car to restore with a little kicker. Guess I will move over to a build thread. Phish
