Proform Carburetor mounting
« on: February 04, 2016 - 12:42:04 PM »
I just received my Proform 850 carb. The only documentation that came with it was a card that listed jet sizes. Does anyone know what type of:

1) bracket, springs, throttle cable, and throttle stop would work well
2) any suggestion for carb fuel lines and fittings kit? Any other components I may be forgetting? I believe I already have a fuel filter and pressure gauge.

This application would be for a 440 with a holley 4 barrel intake and 4 speed trans.

Thanks,
Chris

If you have a TF tranny, then you will need the Holley 20-7 adapter.

Summit or Jegs will have it plus you can buy the dual bowl inlet plumbing there.  Several choices of varying price ranges for that.

Thanks, been scanning Summit for the inlet fuel lines, lots to choose from. I should have mentioned that trans is manual.

It will also depend on the type of intake. High rise one like mine required a different linkage setup which I bought here:

This guy also makes a low rise one as well. But if you are into stock looking there are several on ebay as well.

A few members have suggested the Holley Street dominator, so I may go with that, which I believe is close to stock height.

Holley makes an adapter for the lever to correct the leverage 20-7 .
Stock throttle cable should work or just make an extender from a chev valve cover load spreader .
Mancini has a throttle cable bracket that will work with a high rise intake .
There are 2 different fuel line lengths for carbs with or without secondary metering block , you want the longer or adjustable one .
